Solis is a start-up company specialising in reptile lighting and specifically tube lighting that provides UVB for reptiles. The name itself; Solis is Latin for sunlight so their products replicate natural sunlight and it’s benefits.
The logo is based around a beam of sunlight as it shines on Earth. The colours chosen needed to be classy, yet appropriate for the type of product and also not the colours of a competitor within this specific market so a certain amount of research into the industry was required.
The font chosen needed to be modern and simple in appearance. With this in mind it had to be Sans Serif and also geometric.
The design also needed to appear technical and advanced in technology. This is why I designed the icon to have a certain level of 3 dimensions. Giving the feel of technicality.
