This range had to fit with existing branding (although subtle differences still drove it in the right direction). It had to look fresh, natural and honest, with the ‘tortoise owner’ target audience in mind. There were also various legal details to be added to the packaging as it is a food, in addition to all the usual weight, nutritional and ingredient information.
This packaging was created in Adobe In Design. The tortoise photos were taken by myself with a Canon DSLR camera in our in-house studio. All images were edited in either Photoshop or Canon’s Raw format photo editing suite or both. The icon and logos were created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. This was then made into a print-ready PDF (CMYK, text to outlines, 3mm bleed, crop marks) as was required for the printer used for this job and sent with cutter guides to a printer in the UK.
